Emma Lydia’s Garden’ Semillon 2013 – We return to Emma Lydia’s Garden for this vintage. One of the factors that sets Hunter and Barossa Sems apart can be the alcohol levels. This one sits a touch over 14%, exhibiting that difference, but of course, what is important is that the wine is balanced. The colour here is a vibrant pale yellow. The nose offers some delightful notes of passionfruit with hints of lemon  and other forms of citrus, with nuts and toast. A minerally backing runs the length. There is more power exhibited in this vintage than any in the series. The wine has a firm texture and is mid-length. And importantly, it is well balanced. Drinking well now, it should continue to do so for the next 4 to 6 years. 91.
